Detourmined

Spoken Word Artist and Poet Chandra Keyser released her debut album Detourmined on August 28, 2024. 

She has been writing poetry for years. With every life hurdle and success, she manages that experience with perspective and words. Words  that are raw and expressive. Words that fall gently into the rhythms of the music of Composer and DJ Robert Eibach. 

“Chandra’s  art and poetry inspired me to take the music to new creative places.”  Robert explains, adding “the challenge is to not overpower, rather to outline and properly frame that picture.”

She brings the listener to scenes of cyber crimes, pushing back against bullies and myriads of other first hand encounters.  

“the stories are meant to bring awareness to injustices, and create collective change” Chandra says.

Setting the words to music gave Robert an opportunity to help bring the prose to life in a unique way with his musical textures and grooves. Adding musicians to share the organic qualities proved to bring the productions to new heights. 

“I  was happy to add my muted trumpet to some of Chandra’s poetic pieces to add melodies and a real vibe,” Grammy Nominated trumpetist David Longoria says, adding “When all the elements come together it create the environment that helps the poet and artist paint the story for the listener.“
